Ithaca Cruise Starting from Ag. Efimia
Activity Description
Set sail on an authentic Greek island adventure aboard the "Romantika II" with Captain Makis, exploring Ithaka's stunning coastline and charming villages on this full-day maritime odyssey.
Your adventure begins with a beautiful bus ride through the mountains to the picturesque fishing village of Agia Efimia on Kefalonia's eastern coast. Once there, we board our cruise boat "Romantika II" and Captain Makis sets off, heading north and leaving the strait between Ithaka and Kefalonia to begin our coastal voyage.
In some occasions we may also have a brief stop at Fiscardo bay to collect more passengers, adding another scenic moment to your cruise.
Captain Makis then sets course toward our first destination – the beautiful bay of Gidaki in Ithaka for a 40-minute swim stop. Dive directly from the boat into crystal-clear aquamarine waters, swim in this pristine secluded beach accessible only by boat, or snorkel and explore the vibrant underwater world surrounded by lush green hillsides.
Next, we cruise toward the capital of Ithaka, Vathy. There, we have our first land stop to take a stroll around the horseshoe-shaped harbor, visit some sights, browse local shops, enjoy the views, and perhaps have a Greek coffee at the waterfront cafés while soaking in the authentic island atmosphere.
After our time in Vathy, we board again and steer north to the enchanting Frikes village for our second land stop. There we can spend our time exploring the peaceful fishing village, enjoying the majestic harbor views, and perhaps even have a leisurely waterfront lunch at traditional tavernas (own expense) serving fresh fish and local specialties.
Afterwards, we cruise toward a beautiful bay area for our second swim stop of the day. Once our time there is over, we start our journey back, sailing all the way around the southern tip of Ithaka with spectacular coastal views, and then we steer back toward the bay and port of Agia Efimia. The buses will be waiting for us there to drive us back to our resorts.
