Zante Cruise from Skala Village
Activity Description
Embark on an enchanting maritime adventure from Skala to the iconic Shipwreck Beach of Zakynthos – one of the most famous beaches in the world! This exciting cruise combines spectacular natural landscapes, swimming in crystal-clear waters, and exploration of traditional Zakynthian villages.
In the morning we board our boat in Skala and begin our journey crossing the channel between Kefalonia and Zakynthos. In about 40 minutes we reach Cape Skinari with its impressive lighthouse – the closest point between the two islands (just 8km from Katelios)!
From there southward to the Shipwreck, the coastline becomes dramatic – steep white cliffs, wild waves, and one of the most impressive sea routes in the Ionian!
Shipwreck Beach is a breath-taking spectacle! Crystal turquoise waters, sheer white cliffs rising like walls around the beach, and the famous wreck of the Panagiotis ship semi-covered in the golden sand. We make a 30-minute stop for photographs from the sea – a unique perspective you can't get anywhere else! Please note: Due to recent government regulations, swimming and disembarkation at Shipwreck Beach are no longer allowed, but you'll still enjoy the best views and photo opportunities from our boat. Don't worry – you'll have plenty of swimming time at the stunning Blue Caves!
Continuing along the coast toward the Blue Caves, we pass by the ruins of St. Andrew's Monastery – built 1,100 years ago for protection from pirates! Look carefully at the rocks – you might spot a rare Mediterranean monk seal, one of Europe's rarest marine mammals!
The Blue Caves are a natural wonder! These caves were carved by wild waves over centuries and get their unique blue colors from the underwater seabed formation. Our stop here lasts 30 minutes and you can dive directly off the boat into the deep waters or take the most fun option – the boat's water slide for an exhilarating plunge!
Our final stop is at the picturesque village of Alykes – an authentic Zakynthian village with a beautiful sandy beach and excellent traditional tavernas. Here we stay for 2 hours and you can enjoy a delicious lunch with fresh seafood, swim in the calm waters, or simply relax under the beach umbrellas.
Once our time is up, we board the boat again for the relaxing journey back to Skala, arriving around 16:00 PM filled with unforgettable memories!
